An ear and sinus infection blindsided me this week. I've gotten behind. Well, behind behind. I was already behind. I managed to do the important things, though, and that's what really matters. As I said, attitude makes a difference!
So what did I accomplish?
The usual things like laundry and sweeping, but I also managed to clear out a pile of clutter that had been accumulating on my desk. It seems to be the place where everyone puts "stuff." I don't know how to improve on this system at the moment. I would like to buy some organizing/storage tools that would help with some of my biggest frustrations, but we just don't have the budget for it. I've got to think creatively and at the present moment, that's just not happening either. I know that habits must be changed, but in a way that makes forming a new habit much more easy to maintain than being stuck in the rut of old bad habits.
We made more Christmas ornaments and decorations! This was really important to Big Sis, so it was my priority this week. If I let everything else slide, I wanted to make sure that she enjoyed preparing for Christmas. We had many good talks while crafting together, and lots of laughs, so these will always be good memories for us. We still have some baking to do, including cookies and Rice Krispy treats in the shapes of snowmen and Christmas trees.
I finished up our midterm homeschool report and got that mailed to our umbrella school administrator. That was a biggie for me and I'm glad it's done!
I addressed, stamped, and mailed the Christmas cards. Big Sis helped and she felt like it was a fun Christmas thing to do, so bonus points on that one!
I worked on my writing, including some personal blog posts that had been on my heart. This is always a work in progress.
Writing it out makes me realize I did more than I thought had in spite of being sick. Yay!
Linking up at Homeschooling Hearts and Minds again this week!

Sounds to me like you got a WHOLE LOT DONE this week! Congratulations! And thank you for linking up.
ReplyDeleteAnd have a Merry Christmas.
Your admin received said letter today. Thank -you!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
We have a corner on our kitchen counter where all the "stuff" goes, and I know how frustrating that is, but it sounds like you had a great week and made some special memories too!
ReplyDeleteJust checking back for any new items you may have posted.
ReplyDeleteI left a note of invitation in the comment section on one of your past posts’ and invited you to follow my blog. Just in case it was accidently overlooked, just want you to know the invitation is still very much valid…and of course, I am already following your blog.
P.S. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas.
So sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you are feeling better now. You sure got a lot done despite feeling ill. As far as organization, my desk is the catch all place, too. I have an inbox and outbox which help a little, but it still looks a mess. One thing that did help is I got baskets big enough for my kids to put their homeschool items in, one for each of them. So now, when it is time to do school, they each just pull out their basket. Hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our Christmas wasn't great due to a wreck while snowmobiling (see blog for details), but we're hoping for a better New Year :)
