TOS Crew Review: The World's Greatest Stories

One of the most important tasks I have as a mom, whether we homeschool or not, is passing along a solid Biblical foundation to our daughters. I want to make our faith accessible to them and show them that the Bible is the word of God to be used in every life situation, not just something we read on Sundays. To that end, I'm always looking for quality resources to make the Bible stories come alive for them. That's why I was very happy to have a chance to review The World's Greatest Stories on CD for the TOS Crew.

We received the first CD in the series entitled The Prophets.  It features these stories:  The Blazing Furnace, The Handwriting on the Wall, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Elijah and the Prophets of Baal, and The Prophecy of Jonah.  There are six total CD's in the series, each sharing Bible stories in a captivating way that keeps the attention of the whole family.  I've listened to many other audio Bibles and they are not all the same.  The World's Greatest Stories is the actual word-for-word text, available in either King James or NIV.  This means that you can actually follow along in your Bible as the narrator, George Sarris, reads the stories.  He uses his voice talent to make each character sound different, which the girls appreciate.  Mr. Sarris is a great storyteller, telling the greatest stories!

We enjoy listening to the CD in the car, during lunchtime, and at bedtime.  Big Sis likes to follow along in the Bible, too.  I would like to collect the whole series.  It's entertaining and Biblically accurate.  With the reasonable price of $7.95 per CD, it is budget-friendly as well.
